As a native of Alva, Florida, Ross Chastain grew up growing watermelons on his family’s farm when he wasn’t turning laps at local short tracks. Now 29, Chastain competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Trackhouse Racing in the No. 1 Chevrolet.
Over the last three seasons, Chastain has logged 200 starts in NASCAR’s top three national touring series, earning him the title of NASCAR’s busiest driver. Chastain's first victory in NASCAR competition came in 2018 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, auditioning for Chip Ganassi Racing and sweeping all three race stages in spectacular fashion. He has since won six more races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. In 2019, Chastain finished second in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship standings and won the most popular driver award.
2022 is shaping up to be a career defining year for Chastain. Through the midpoint of the 2022 season he has scored two victories at Circuit of the Americas and Talladega Superspeedway along with 8 top-5 and 11 top-10 finishes while leading 426 laps. Chastain is poised for continued success as he advances into the season-ending playoffs and looks to win his first championship.
